What Is The Official Game Of The Asian Game E-sports?

It was decided that e-sports would officially join the Asian Games. Game fans are attracting attention as to which games will be adopted as official events.

The Asian Olympic Council (OCA)  has formed a strategic alliance with China’s Alisports and announced on August 17 that it will incorporate e-sports as a full-fledged medal sport in the Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China in 2022. Prior to that, it will be selected as a demonstration event in the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang.

OCA and Alisports have not disclosed which games will be selected as Asian game e-sports. Instead, some of the games that were adopted in the 5th Turkmenistan Indoor Martial Asian Games to be held in September 2017 were released.

Alisports said, “In 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, there will be games such as FIFA 2017, MOBA games and Real Time Attack games. The games adopted at this time are likely to be adopted in the Jakarta and Palembang Asian games a year later.

In the current MOBA game, “League of Legends” and “Dota 2” are considered to be strong candidates. “League of Legends” is the biggest game in the MOBA game genre, and it was selected as the official e-sports in 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Incheon.

However, the game fans are seeing a change to “Dota 2” in the Asian Games and 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. The parent company of Alisports, which is affiliated with OCA, is a Chinese e – commerce company Alibaba, rivaling Tencent, an affiliate of “League of Legends.” There is no reason to use competitors’ games in Asian games that invested huge amounts of money. Indeed, Alisports selected “Dota 2” instead of “League of Legends” as a MOBA game in WESG, a large-scale e-sports event held in Changzhou, China last October.

For this reason, some people assume that RTA games are time-recorded racing games or real-time strategy games. In the case of real-time strategy game, “StarCraft 2”, which was the official event of the Incheon Indoor Martial Asian Games, is considered as a strong candidate.

However, there is also the possibility that “Hearthstone” may be added. In last year’s WESG, Alisports adopted “Hearthstone” as a regular event along with “Counter-Strike: Global Offensive”, “Dota 2” and “StarCraft 2.”
