LG G6 Investing Heavily In North America and Europe Marketing

LG Electronics is accelerating the global market for its strategic premium smartphone G6. The G6 was launched in North America on April 7, including the United States and Canada. LG supplied the G6 to 11 US mobile carriers including 4 major carriers; Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, & T-Mobile. Prior to the official launch, LG Electronics began marketing the LG G6 by providing space to experience the G6 from more than 25,000 locations, including mobile phone shops and electronics stores. From mid-March onward, pre-order was available.

LG Electronics is looking forward to the North American market. According to market researcher Strategy Analytics (SA), the North American market accounts for 11.6% of global smartphone shipments, which is the second largest smartphone market after Asia. LG Electronics is also making more than 50% of smartphone sales from. As of last year, Apple ranked 32.7% in the North American market, followed by Samsung and LG with 25.7% and 15.9% respectively.

Following the North American market, LG Electronics unveiled the G6 on April 17 at Big 6 retailers’ online and offline stores across Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).  In Europe, LG supplies G6 through 33 major carriers including Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and Telefónica. We will also supply G6 to major global mobile carriers such as Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America, after that, the G6 will also be supplied to major global mobile carriers such as Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Earlier this year, LG Electronics completed preparations for global launch by reinforcing its supply system to respond flexibly from parts to finished product sales, such as parts supply schedule management, inventory control, and supply chain diversification. The former G5 has succeeded in the early stage of the show due to innovations such as modular design. However, due to the problem of production yield due to the new design (mass production rate without defects), the supply of raw materials has been difficult.

“We will lead the global smartphone market with ease of use and quality beyond the expectations of consumers,” an LG official said.
