The first gaming and VR exhibit will be launched this year at Computex Taipei, the Asia Global ICT Exhibition opens 5 days from May 50 to June 3. More than 60 companies participate such as Acer, Asus, Cooler Master, Gigabyte, G.SKILL, MSI, Thermaltake and so on.
According to market researcher Jon Peddie Research, the PC gaming hardware market is expected to reach $ 30 billion by 2018.
“With the PC market in a saturated state, the emergence of the gaming industry is driving a big shift among high-tech companies,” said Walter Yeh, vice president of TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council). “The growth of gaming is bringing new business opportunities to PC component and peripheral suppliers. Computex will serve as a platform to build a healthy science and technology ecosystem, as well as provide a complete supply chain for these companies by utilizing a global network.”
At Computex 2017, various events are taking place in line with the rapid growth of the gaming event market due to the emergence of social media and live streaming services. CyberMods 24hrs, a modding contest to create 24-hour gaming software under topics such as Sci-Fi, video games, and movies, will be held at Computex 2017.
The modders from various countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Thailand, the Philippines, and China will compete at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1. The premiere eSports tournament, ZOTAC CUP MASTERS will also be held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center during Computex 2017, and the final DOTA 2 for the grand $100,000 USD prize will be broadcast live on the Internet.
Computex 2017, co-hosted by TAITRA and the Taipei Computer Association (TCA), will be held with the aim of building a global science and technology ecosystem, from May 30 to June 3, 2017, at Taipei International Trade Center (TWTC), Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei International Convention Center (TICC).
